1. Does the Traders Edge Now indicator work for both long and short trades?
Yes! After you enter a trade to buy with the chart trader the indicator will show buttons for selling part of your position. If you enter a trade to go short the indicator will instead show you buttons to buy to cover part of your position.
2. I installed the Traders Edge Now as an add-on in Ninjatrader 8 but I don't actually see the indicator show up in my chart trader. Why is this?
The traders edge now indicator will only show up on the chart trader window once you have a gain on your long or short trade.
3. Is it possible to add an offset to the breakeven button so that when pressed it will move to breakeven plus a certain amount of ticks (cents) above or below your entry price?
Yes! The indicator can be configured by right clicking on the chart and going to indicators and then clicking on the TradersEdge indicator. Next under properties you should see parameters. Look for BreakEvenTicks and set it to whatever you want. Please note if you are trading stocks you can use ticks or cents, but BreakEvebTick value can only be set in ticks. One tick is equal to one cent.
4. How can I change the colors of the buttons on the Traders Edge Now indicator?
The indicator can be configured by right clicking on the chart and going to indicators and then clicking on the TradersEdge indicator. Next under properties you should see parameters. You will be able to change the colors of the sell at bid and ask, buy to cover at bid and ask or breakeven buttons, here.”
5. Will this work for trading different types of assets?
Yes! The indicator will work with any type of asset that you can trade in the chart trader window. You could trade futures like the Emini S&P500, Forex like the EUR:USD, stocks like Apple or even some low priced obscure penny stock, and even cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTCUSD).
6. How do I install the Traders Edge Now Indicator?
To install the indicator in Ninjatrader 8 you go the main NINJATRADER window, then Tools > Import > Ninjascript add-on > and select the TradersEdgeNow zip file. Then open a chart and top right tool bar select Chart Trader. After this right click on the chart and go to Indicators. Now you should see TradersEdge under available indicators. Click that and you at the right under properties you can configure the indicator.
7. How do I setup a stop loss order to work with Traders Edge Now?
Setting up a stop loss order has nothing to do with the Traders Edge Now indicaotr however you will want to setup an ATM Strategy by going to the Chart Trader, clicking the down arrow and then going to custom. Now you can choose a desired quantity, parameter type I suggest is ticks (even if you are trading stocks) and TIF should be set to GTC. For target one set your quantity. If you plan to use Traders Edge Now to buy or sell a part of your positions then I suggest using a quantity that is divisble by 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 such as 600 shares (but this really will dependent on the average price of stocks that you trade since lower priced stocks will require a higher quantity obviously. Next you can input your stop loss and yout target exit price should go under profit. So if I want a $.25 per share stop loss and a $.50 target for a 2:1 risk reward to risk, I would enter this under stop and profit. If you want a trailing stop you would then click the arrow under stop strategy and go to custom. If you are planning to have more than one target price then you will want to click the add and input your second stop loss (which could be the same or different from your first one) and also your second profit target. When you are finished with this you can save this as a template. You can go back and same more templates with different quantities and/or profit targets so that way when you want to enter a trade quickly all you will need to do is select the ATm strategy and then hit the chart trader button to buy or short.
8. I was in a trade and when I tried to sell part of my position my stop loss and target limit orders were automatically cancelled. What do I do?
If the software cancels your ATM Strategy while you are in a trade what you can do is go to the main Ninajtrader window with your position and right click on it and choose add ATM strategy. This will let you add a new ATM strategy. If you try to right click and add it while you are on the chart or the chart trader it will not work most likely.
9. What broker are you using to trade with this indicator?
I personally trade through Interactive Brokers with the Traders Edge Indicator in Ninjatrader 8 for stock trading. It's been tested with a number of other brokers. I have also used it with TD Ameritrade. It should work with any brokers which are suported by Ninjatrader 8.
10. I still use Ninjatrader 7. Can I use this indicator with it?
No! Unfortunately the indicator will only work with Ninjatrader 8. I do not plan to add support for Ninjatrader 7.
14. What is your return policy?
I am not providing any returns for this indicator. The reason is the indicator works just like you can see in the video. I use the indicator every day in my own trading. You should decide if it could help you in your tradng prior to purchasing. I wish I could offer returns but unfortunately software can be pirated way to easily for me to offer returns.
15. Is it possible to test out Traders Edge Now in demo trading?
Yes you can absolutely test it out either using the playback feed or else if your broker allows paper trading (like Interactive Brokers or TD Ameritrade) you can also test out Traders Edge Now in demo trading. I would suggest paper trading to make sure everything is working smoothly before you go live.
16. Is it possible set the Breakeven Tick in Traders Edge Now to 3 ticks when trading futures?
Unfortunately most futures contracts are too volatile and have too much market noise to use such a tight stop. If you place for example a 3 tick stop and press the breakeven stop button, you might be stopped out prematurely by the software. When trading stocks a 3 tick stop would be equal to $.03, so technically this would work when using the breakeven button, however most stocks will stop you out almost immediately if you use such a tight stop.
